VISION
To be
the Nation’s premier professional organization dedicated
to facilitate the collaboration of veterinarians engaged
in the practice of public health and preventive medicine
and to serve as an advocate for public policies that
result in improved human and animal health.
MISSION
The mission of the Association is to
promote the science, art, and practice of public health,
epidemiology, and preventive medicine. The Association
carries out this mission by providing an expert forum for
the discussion of public health issues of importance to
the veterinary profession and the development of
professional recommendations and public health
resolutions. The Association consistently supports
programs to promote and improve the professional
education, communication and collaboration of public
health veterinarians in order to reduce human and animal
disease and disability to improve human and animal
population well-being, and to integrate the contributions
of veterinary medicine to the successful practice of
public health throughout the United States.
